Study Abroad - About Me

I’ve been where you are. I moved from Russia to study abroad in Germany. 10 years later, with my consultancy, I am helping international students go abroad and study abroad

Hey Welcome To My Webstite Yana Immis Educational Consultant.png

I’M YANA

I’ve been where you are. In 2009 at the age of 18, I moved from a small city in Russia to study at a University in Germany.

I was born in Perm (Russia). Foreigners always ask me where it is - between Europe and Asia, in the Ural Mountains, a bit more than 20 hours by train from Moscow to the East.

I do not come from a rich family. My parents have worked for years to be able to afford my education and travel abroad. I have a brother, who always had entrepreneurial ideas as well. My parents never hesitated to support us both.

My 1st trip was in 2006, at the age of 16, when I travelled to the USA with Work & Travel program. My 2nd trip was to learn German in Austria a year later. For my 3rd trip, I chose Germany to study.

I was in the first generation of students who took IELTS in a small city in Russia. We had no IELTS testing center until 2008... and I scored 7. I took it for fun, to test my English. But once I have discovered where you can study with 7 I decided to leave Russia and to seek for a Bachelor program abroad. Why not?

My parents were against the idea of me going abroad because I was a mess in school and university. Always on the verge of being expelled 😏. No risk no life!

I had to work hard... to study and 'brainwash' my dad to send me abroad and after a year of tears and parents’ cultivation, he gave up.

Why? Proximity to my family, safety, stable currency & economy. But to be completely honest with you, one visa for 20 European countries sealed the deal. I could study in English in Germany, which not many students were aware of. My father said there is no other country he would allow me to study in, he was here during his army times in Bamberg and he loved it. The USA was too far. The UK was too expensive. Germany was a good choice for him. And, obviously, for me.

Taking this step was risky, as back then I knew no German language, I had no friends or family in Munich to help me. I failed and I succeeded, but the most important is that I learnt. What I learnt would be shared on this website. Little did I know, that my ticket to Germany would be one-way.

10 years later, I am a German citizen, with an MBA and my consultancy helping students fulfil their dream and study abroad!

I received my first full-time employment contract in 2011 and asked my parents to stop supporting me financially. Germany is one of the few countries, where one can break-even on the invested tuition fees relatively fast without dragging loans for the dozens of years.

I didn’t always have this business. The feedback I received from non-eu students is that there is a lack of credible sources where one can go and ask questions.

With the great number of foreigners seeking support in regards to university admission, I signed up to help. Like my brother, like my father, I became an entrepreneur at the age of 28.

I’m a consultant who is passionate about helping out international students to study abroad. I want to inspire you to study abroad. I learnt secrets to successful admission & I want to share them with you.

Since 2009, I consulted more than a thousand students from 50+ countries. We all need that one person to help, to give a push and someone to talk to when moving abroad. Let me be this person for you! My services are absolutely free.
